| Day 1 |
Depart Nairobi early and enjoy views of the Great Rift Valley en route. Upon arrival at Hell’s Gate National Park, begin your cycling or walking safari through open plains framed by dramatic cliffs. Look out for wildlife such as zebras, giraffes, and warthogs, while enjoying the freedom of exploring the park on foot or bike, one of the few places in Kenya where this is possible.
Depending on time and your physical ability, you may take an optional guided walk through Hell’s Gate Gorge. This scenic canyon features narrow passages, sculpted rock formations, and geothermal activity. The walk offers a deeper understanding of the park’s geology and Maasai cultural stories. After your morning activities, stop at a nearby restaurant around Naivasha for lunch and some relaxation before the afternoon experiences. Head to Lake Naivasha for a peaceful boat ride across the freshwater lake. Spot hippos, watch African fish eagles in action, and enjoy the serene lakeside views. It’s a perfect way to unwind after the active morning. If time permits, extend your adventure with a visit to Crescent Island. This predator-free sanctuary allows you to walk among giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and other herbivores while taking in panoramic views of the lake. After a fulfilling day, depart Naivasha and drive back to Nairobi, arriving in the early evening. |
